Akazukin Chacha

Magical items, colorful characters, and messed-up magic spells...

These are the perfect ingredients to create the perfect show called Akazukin Chacha. This show consists of 74 episodes with 3 OVAs of the anime characters and a Musical featuring a live cast of the Chacha characters.

The show is about a red-hooded girl named Chacha who is taught many magic spells through her father-like mentor wizard, Seravy, who also carries a doll named Elizabeth. However, Chacha isn't a grade A student of magic because most of her magic goes wrong from her misspelling of Japanese! She is always happy and cheerful, and is too much of a tomboy, which is cute! However, an evil being named Evil Magic Lord, wants Chacha dead and uses his bumbling assistant, Sorges, to send monsters and create dangers to destroy her!

Throughout her adventures to stop the Evil Magic Lord, she tags-along with her best friends: Riiya, a strong boy who changes into a cute and fluffy little wolf at will, and Shiine, a smart wizard apprentice and a good-mannered boy. These friends are given Seravy's special magical items from Chacha that, when combined with "Love, Courage, and Hope", they transform Chacha into the Magical Princess Holy-Up to destroy the Evil Magic Lord's monsters. There are other friends Chacha meets during her adventures: Marine, a selfish mermaid who wants Riiya to herself, Orin, a small and shy ninja girl who loves Shiine, and Yakko, a great alchemist who wants Seravy to be her wizard teacher and husband!

With other bizarre characters, like Chacha's school teachers Rascal and Barabaraman, and an old and glass-eyed principal named Urara, Akazukin Chacha is a wonderfully magical show that is filled with light-hearted humor, with lots of funny and remarkable characters and story plots. When I first watched this show a long time ago, I was indeed hooked by the many possibilities of humor and danger among Chacha and her friends fighting evil monsters. I believe that while watching the first show and a couple of episodes, the show itself is a hit among magical shows like Sailor Moon and it's such a cool show that I love the characters so much! I would recommend watching this cute red-hooded girl and her friends get into many fun adventures that you would want to sing the opening theme song over and over again and have the cool collection for yourself, not to mention dressing yourself up with your favorite Chacha character for cosplay! I did, with my friends, and boy, was it fun! ^_^
